Loyd "George" Thedford Corder, 68 of Vermilion, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was born July 9, 1937 in Ritner, KY and has been a Vermilion resident since 1957 moving from Amherst. He worked as a cushion builder for the Lorain Ford plant for 31 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the North Lake Missionary Baptist Church in Amherst. He was also a member of the VOL club house where he served as president for many years. He enjoyed camping, his family, fishing and playing cards. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lora Evelyn Corder (Nee Decker); 3 daughters, Dianne Jones of Vermilion, Melissa Riggs of Vermilion, and Tammy Corder of Louisville, KY; son, Thedford Allen Corder of Norwalk, 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Wilma Tucker of Monticello, KY; and brother, Delmer Corder of Monticello, KY. Preceding him in death were his parents, Stephen and Janie (nee Young) Corder; sisters, Gladys McDonald, Reba Simpson, and Imogene Walker. Friends may call Friday, May 12, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the North Lake Missionary Baptist Church, Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 11 a.m., with the Reverend Carson Frailey Officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
