Lucille E. Horvath (nee Karpinski), 92 of Oberlin, died Monday, August 21, 2006 after a lengthy illness. She was born June 30, 1914 in Lorain and has been an area resident most of her life. She worked at the American Shipyard Company during WWII and at the old General Motors plant in Elyria. She also operated a local tavern with her husband on "E" Street in Lorain, near the shipyard. She attended Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William (Beef) Horvath, of Oberlin; sons, Richard of Amherst and William Jr. of Oberlin; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. The Reverend Denis L. St. Marie, pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in South Amherst, will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
