Luke M. Henderson, 24, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a courageous four year battle with liver cancer. He was born July 7, 1993 in Elyria and had been a life long Vermilion resident. Luke worked as a Conductor for Norfolk Southern Railway and for Ohio Rental Supply, Vermilion. He was a member of Harbourtown Community Church, Vermilion and started the group Northern Ohio Diesel. Luke enjoyed working on vehicles, building cars, riding dirt bikes, four wheelers, and snowmobiles, and hanging out with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Paige (nee Mihalis) Henderson of Vermilion; son, Jaxson David Henderson at home; mother, Elizabeth "Liz" (nee Cooper) Henderson of Vermilion; brother, Chad (Robin) Henderson of Vermilion; sister, Carey Henderson of Berea; maternal grandfather, W.C. Cooper of Vermilion; paternal grandmother, Bonnye (nee Sadler) Henderson of Vermilion; nieces, Haylie and Alexis Henderson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, David E. Henderson in 2016; maternal grandmother, Georgene Cooper; and paternal grandfather, Bruce Henderson. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The Reverend Jim Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
