Luz N. Atkinson

Luz Nerieda Atkinson died December 27, 2013 after a long illness. She was born January 31, 1948 in Puerto Rico. She grew up in the South Bronx and came to Lorain in the early 70's. She supported herself with a small cleaning business. Affectionatly known as Lucy to her friends, she was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for almost 40 years. Lucy enjoyed the beauty of creation, the honesty of little children, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Violet Johnson Pelaez and nephews Caleb and Jason Johnson. A memorial for Lucy will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4th at the East Kingdom Hall on Crehore Ave., Lorain.
