Lyman E. Hector, 98, of Vermilion , died Friday, April 7, 2023 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 8, 1924 in Osceola, Arkansas and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 64 years moving from Memphis, TN.
Lyman worked for Ford Motor Co. as a Repairman for 30 years retiring in 1983.
He was a member of Church of Christ, Vermilion. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping. He was always looking forward to his next trip or chance to travel.
He is survived by his son, Rick Hector of Vermilion; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brother, Freddie Hector of Millington, TN; and sister, Cynthia Darmstaedter of Jackson, TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Hector; daughter, Mary A. Lawson; father, James Harvey Hector; mother, Bertha (nee Lowder) Bickerstaff, daughter-in-law, Nancy Hector; and 4 brothers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Minister Mark Bass will officiate. Interment will follow at Rugby Cemetery.
