Lynette Sue Yurovich

Lynette Sue Yurovich (nee Pickering), 77, of Vermilion, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Ames Family Hospice Facility following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 1, 1949 in Napoleon, Ohio, and had made Vermilion her home for the past 44 years after moving from Defiance. She and her husband also enjoyed wintering in Bowling Green, Florida after her retirement.

Lynette was a graduate of Bluffton University and began her career as a fifth grade teacher with Defiance City Schools, where she taught from 1971 until 1982. She later worked at Ritter Public Library from 1982 until her retirement in 2001, where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and love of serving others.

A faithful member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Lynette was actively involved in the church’s quilting and doll ministries. She found great joy in reading, camping, traveling, cooking, crafts, embroidery on paper and stitch cards, and participating in water aerobics at Kingston of Vermilion. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Daniel Paul Yurovich of Vermilion; step-daughter, Barbara Senefield; step-son, Michael (Lena) Yurovich; grandchildren, Teeghan Doherty, Liza, Hannah, and Fiona; and brothers, Kirk Pickering of Defiance and Brian Pickering of New Haven, Indiana; three nieces, one nephew, and two great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen (nee Groll) Pickering; and infant sister, Jennifer Jo Pickering.

Friends may call on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Avenue, Vermilion ,OH 44089.
