Linda K. "Lynn" Anderson (nee Plavchan), 71, of Vermilion, ascended into Heaven, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at her home after a brief illness. She was born March 27, 1949 in Lorain and had been a Vermilion resident for the past two years moving from Amherst and Avon Lake. Lynn worked as a legal secretary for several attorneys including for her husband's Law Office, Alan Anderson, for many years, retiring in 2005. She also was a secretary for St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Amherst. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. Lynn was an avid genealogist and received many certificates from the National Institute for Genealogical Studies at the University of Toronto. She was also a weather enthusiast and was a NWS Storm Spotter. Lynn enjoyed camping, traveling, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Alan Anderson of Vermilion; children, Jay (Donala) Anderson of Twinsburg, Heather (Kenneth) Mahlich of Avon Lake, and Adam (April) Anderson of Mars, PA; grandchildren, Ayona, Jayna, and Landon Anderson, Ethan and Matthew Mahlich, and Ariana, Ashlyn, Alec, and Ainsley Anderson; brothers, Michael Plavchan of KY, Thomas Plavchan of Grafton, and David Plavchan of Avon Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Louisa (nee Lawler) Plavchan. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Services will be live streamed at https://stmaryvermilion.org/mass-live-stream . Father Paul Schreiner and Father Ron Brickner will concelebrate. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
