Marcia Ann Dobias

Marcia Ann Dobias (née Sidlo), 80, of Vermilion, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, at Kingston of Vermilion, following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 1, 1945, in Lorain, Ohio, and had been a Vermilion resident for more than 60 years.

Marcia was a dedicated and hardworking woman who held several positions throughout her life, including working as a bank teller for Erie County Society Bank. She also worked at Minnotti’s Beverage Store, the Shell Gas Station, and Captain Larry’s Gas Station.

She was a faithful member of United Church of Christ Congregational in Vermilion. In her free time, Marcia enjoyed reading and completing crossword puzzles, and she especially cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Dusty.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Georgianne) Sopko and Steven Sopko; her grandchildren, Macy, Delani, William, Jacqueline, and Kailee; and her great-grandchild, Ryder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Dobias; her parents, Emmanuel and Bernice (née Dettman) Sidlo; her sister, Nancy Hite; and her brother, Charles Sidlo.

Private family services were held, with inurnment at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.
