Margaret Joan Imerzel

Margaret Joan (Hall) Imerzel , 98, of Sandusky, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Parkvue Healthcare Center in Sandusky where she was a resident for 5 years. Margaret was born July 26, 1915 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of William Anton Hall and Anna (Andrae) Hall. She lived in Warren, MI for 61 years before moving to Vermilion where she lived with her daughter, Margaret, and her husband Donald Gebhardt. . Margaret graduated in 1933 from Northwestern High School, Detroit, MI. She enjoyed acting at the Playhouse Theater in Detroit, before marrying James L Imerzel in 1940. She was a loving wife, mother of 5 children, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She worked for several years during the holiday season at J.L Hudson Department Store and was a real estate agent. She also attended Macomb County Community College. After her children were grown, she was employed at the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Detroit, where she worked for several years before retiring. She is survived by sons, James L (Mary Lee) Imerzel, Jr., of Pacifica, CA and Dennis B. Imerzel of Columbiaville, MI; daughter, Margaret J. (Donald) Gebhardt, of Vermilion; daughter-in-law, Carol A. Imerzel, of Broomfield, CO; grandchildren, Michael J. (Margaret) Imerzel, of Warren, MI, Brian M. Imerzel of Ann Arbor, MI, Donald C. (Noemi) Gebhardt, Jr. and James A. Gebhardt of Vermilion, John E. (Jeanene) Imerzel and Tonya (James) Esparza, of Thornton, CO; great grandchildren, Stacie M. (Ken) Ward, of St. Clair Shores, MI, Candice M. Imerzel of Warren, MI, Brian M. Imerzel, Jr. and Ta'Leah R. Imerzel of Ann Arbor, MI, Taylor J. and Zachary J. Imerzel of Thornton, CO, Devin J. and Brooklyn E. Esparza, Thornton, CO, Emma G. Gebhardt, Quintin M. and twins, Liam J and Veronica C. Gebhardt, of Vermilion; great-great-grandchild, Gregory M. Ward, of St. Clair Shores, MI; step-grandchildren, Jerry J. Stesney, Kathy Gebhardt Nichols, of Lorain; step-great-grandchildren, Carol S. and Christa S. Nichols, of Columbia Station, Jennifer Hendra of Warren MI; brother, Alfred A. (Edith) Hall of Eugene, OR and niece, Pamela Hall, of Eugene, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Andrae Hall (1962), her husband, James L. Imerzel (1981), sons, Alfred J. (1994) and John R. Imerzel (2009), grandson, Daniel P Imerzel (1979) and half-brother, William Hall. Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, is handling local arrangements.
