Margaret M. Malloy (née Misiak), 89, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 18, 2025, following a brief illness.
Born on June 13, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, Margaret made her home in Vermilion for the past 15 years, having previously lived in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Sebastian, FL and Sheffield Lake, OH.
Margaret dedicated 15 years to the banking industry, working at several institutions including Lorain National Bank and Key Bank in Vermilion. She was known for her professionalism and kindness in the workplace.
A devoted member of St. Mary Parish in Vermilion, Margaret found joy in gardening and cooking, but her greatest happiness came from spending time with her beloved family.
She is survived by her daughters, Monica Finley of Vermilion, Christine (Wesley) Woodall of Georgetown, KY, Margaret (Dennis) Thiessen of Vermilion, and Kathleen (Ryan) Miller of Greenville, NC; sons, James Malloy of Sheffield Lake, David (Waldette) Malloy of Florence Township, and John Malloy of Lorain; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Malloy in 2008; her parents, Steve and Helen (née Barnicky) Misiak; her brothers, Thomas and Steve Misiak; and her sisters, Cecilia Wawzyniak, Elizabeth Stafford, and Barbara Misiak.
Private services will be held, and inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
