Margaret Edna 'Peg' Thomas

Margaret Edna "Peg" Thomas (nee Palmer),48, of Vermilion, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born June 5, 1972 in Sandusky, and had been a life long Vermilion, Huron, and Sandusky resident. Peg was a preschool teacher at St. Mary School, Vermilion. She had also taught preschool at La Chaperon Rouge, Amherst and was the Director at Kinship, Sandusky. Peg was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. She enjoyed shopping and traveling to New England, Michigan, and Catawba to be by the water. She loved trying different restaurants and could not resist a bowl of Lobster Bisque. She loved her St. Mary's family and the kids she taught. She especially enjoyed spending time with her nephew Augie, who she considered a grandson and her dog, Archie. She is survived by her husband, Michael Thomas of Vermilion; sisters, Kimberly (Joe) Riedy of Sandusky, Tami Busch of New Prague, MN, Pamela (Chuck) Decaro of Sandusky, Susan (Joe) Mackle of Ravenna, Catherine (Dave) Knauer of Akron, Melissa (Tom) Knauer of Akron; brothers, Leland (Amy) Palmer of Huron, Christopher (Rachael Mraz) Palmer of Huron, and Andrew (Babe) Palmer of Sandusky who Peg helped raise; mother-in-law, Julie Thomas of Catawba; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland Dale "Cob" and Donna Kay (nee McDaniel) Palmer and her father-in-law, Ray Thomas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 3-5 pm for a COVID approved drive thru visitation at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH. Interment will follow at Scott Cemetery, Huron.
