Margaret Wasela

July 15, 1926 — November 20, 2003

Margaret Wasela (nee Bylicki), 77 of Lorain, died Thursday, November 20, 2003 in Elyria United Methodist Village following a lengthy illness. Born in Lorain July 15, 1926, she lived here most of her life, except the 10 years she spent living in Pasadena, California. She was a graduate of Lorain High school with Certificates of Study from Lorain Business College and Oberlin Vocational School. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Gerald touring Mexico, Canada, and most of the USA. Her activities were dancing, golf, and volleyball where she was captain of the team. Mrs. Wasela was previously employed by Lorain Printing Company and the National Tube Company in Cost Accounting in the late 40s and early 50s. She was also a United Steel Workers of America (USWA) union office employee with Local 2354. In California she was employed as an Alternate Office Manager at Bullock's, an upscale department store in Pasadena. She was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband Gerald of 52 years, son David and daughter Joyce of Lorain; sister, Florence Maiden of Lorain; and, half-brother, Robert Zimmerman of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose (nee Nowicki) Bylicki, and step-father, Fred Zimmerman; brothers Stanley and Ted Bylicki; and sister Irene Honoshofsky. There will be no visitation. Prayers will be said Wednesday, November 26 at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave, Lorain, at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at 10:00 am at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain, with the Reverend Robert J. Glepko, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Resurrection Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio. Contributions may be made to the Nativity BVM Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
