Margaret Williamson

Margaret Williamson (nee Gahagan), 90, of Vermilion, died Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Mill Manor Nursing Home  after a lengthy illness.

She was born August 19, 1932 in Birkenhead Cheshire, England and had been a Vermilion resident since 1978.  She had also lived in Vermilion between 1968 and 1971 moving from Montreal, Canada and South Africa.

Margaret worked for Society Bank as a data processor for 10 years, retiring in 1989.  She had also worked for Higbees in the Crystal and China Department.

She was a member of St. Mary Parish, Vermilion and Volunteer Bay in Vermilion.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano, cruising, bowling, fishing, riding in the golf cart, and playing soccer on the Sunday Stumblers.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Skip) Woods of Vermilion; sons, John (Sandy) Williamson of Vermilion and Graham (Kris) Williamson of Vermilion; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" H. Williamson; son, Rob Williamson; parents, George and Elsie (nee Savage) Gahagan and her great grandson, Brendon Shadle.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a prayer service at 11:00 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 11432 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, OH 44106.
