Maria Sapecki

Maria Sapecki (nee Stepek ), age 92, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Amherst. Maria was born December 15, 1919 in Haczow, Poland. She moved from Poland to Lorain 62 years ago. Maria had been employed by Lorain Products for 11 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She had also been a member of the Polish Heritage Club, and the Young Golden Ager's. Maria enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. Maria married Stanislaw J. Sapecki June 24, 1944, and he preceded her in death August 6, 1998. She is survived by her daughter Teresa (Jerry) Winiasz of Amherst, son Roman (Susan) Sapecki of Westerville, OH, grandchildren Chloe (Joshua) Christ, and Ian Sapecki, great-grandchildren Jazira and Azlon Christ; and step great-grandchildren Jahfar and Levi Christ all of Buxton, NC. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her parents Izydor and Helena (nee Szuber) Stepek, three brothers, and one sister. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 15th from 4-8 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, with Altar Rosary Society prayers at 6:00 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m.. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 418 W. 15th St., Lorain. The Reverend Fr. Robert Glepko will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
