Marian Louise Greene (nee Lohr), 96, of Vermilion, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Mercy Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born May 30, 1915 in Vermilion, OH, where she had been a life long resident. Marian graduated from MB Johnson School of Nursing Class of 1936 and worked as a Registered Nurse at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Huron Rd Hospital, Cleveland, and St. Joseph's Hospital, Lorain. She was also a private duty nurse in Vermilion. She was a member of The United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion, Marmaru Circle of Church, Order of Eastern Star Madeleine Chapter #204 O.E.S., MB Johnson nursing alumni. She was also a former member of the Sirenettes (Vermilion Firemen's wives). She is survived by her daughter Jessie (Harold) Schafer of Vermilion; ; 4 grandchildren: Heidi, Nina, Amy, and Michael "Ty"; and 5 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Alison, Benjamin, Chloe and Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse in 1985; son, Mark Greene in 2010; and her parents, Robert W. and Helen (nee French) Lohr. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Rev. Louis Bertoni will of officiate and the Order of Easter Star Madeleine Chapter #204 O.E.S. will conduct an Eastern Star service.
