Marie V. Rhoades

Marie V. Rhoades (nee Wolcott), 90 of Vermilion, died Friday, November 3, 2006 at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy decline in health. She was born February 12, 1916 in Eatontown, NJ and has lived in Vermilion for over 45 years. She was an avid cook, cooking for Rebate in Vermilion and several other area kitchens throughout the years. She had also owned her own restaurant, "Marie's", in Belmar, New Jersey, before moving to Vermilion. She also enjoyed birds, butterflies and babies. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Knittle of Vermilion, Diane Reer of Norwalk, Joan Calamia of Vermilion and Marilyn Oliver of Vermilion; sons, Robert Keller of Las Vegas, NV, Charles Keller of Wickliffe, John Rhoades of Vermilion and Gary Rhoades of Vermilion; 28 Grandchildren and 35 Great-Grandchildren; 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Clarence "Dusty" Rhoades, son, Thomas Keller, grandsons, John Rhoades and Doug Keller, great-grandsons, Jacob Knittle and Daniel Ring, parents, Chester A. and Lottie (nee Arrance) Wolcott, brothers, Thomas, Calvin, Chester and Marvin and sisters, Blanche Witherspoon and Dorothy Wolcott. Friends may call Monday, November 6, 2006 from 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, where services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 11:00 am. Pastor Raymond Vance, Zion Lutheran Church in Huron, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
