Marilyn Morey

Marilyn Morey, 96, of Vermilion, died Friday, December 20, 2024 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

She was born November 21, 1928 in Los Angeles, CA. She moved to Vermilion as a small child attending and graduating from Vermilion Schools in 1946. She then attended Kent State University and graduated in 1950.

Marilyn worked for Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA as a Registered Dietitian for 36 years retiring in 1986. She returned to Vermilion to enjoy her hometown for the past 38 years.

Marilyn was a member of Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Order of the Eastern Stars, Madelyn Chapter. She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, the beach at Linwood, and sports, especially cheering on her cousins at many basketball games. Above all, she loved her family deeply.

She is survived by her cousins, Richard and Elaine Slife of San Antonio, TX, Barbara Enfield of Vermilion, Sandra and Maurice Oberg of Richmond, CA, Sheila Slife of Northfield, and Betsy Ruckman of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Hannah (Aufderheide) Morey.

Honoring Marilyn's wishes, no public services will be held. Inurnment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
