Marjorie C. Maners (nee Spoon), 90, of Vermilion, died Friday, January 30, 2015, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness. Marjorie was born May 13, 1924 in Halls, TN and has been a Vermilion resident since 1958, moving from Tennessee. Marjorie had worked for different nursing homes including Nuhn's Nursing Home and Riverview Nursing Home in Vermilion. She had also worked for Vermilion Schools in the cafeteria, however, her priority was caring for her family. She was a member of Harbourtown Community Church, Vermilion and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. She is survived by her son, William (Dot) Maners of Berlin Heights; daughters, Janie (the late Larry) Massey of Vermilion, Teresa (Gene) Goforth of Vermilion, and Lois (Jerry) Thompson of Alvarado, TX; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 18 great great-grandchildren; brother, Oscar Spoon of Ripley, TN; and sister, Marie Nunn of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Maners in 2001; parents, John and Mozella (nee Hubbard) Spoon; and brothers, Dewey, Bill, Lewis, and Johnie Spoon. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Funeral services will be Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. The Reverend Jim Cooper will officiate. Entombment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
