Marlys Dayle Yohn (nee Cutlip), 75, of Vermilion, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born September 26, 1950 in Lorain, Ohio, and had made her home in Vermilion for the past 56 years after moving from Lorain.
Marlys graduated from Lorain High School in 1968. She dedicated many years to the banking industry. She began her career as a bookkeeper with Barr Supply in Lorain before working as a bank teller for Citizens Home Savings, later known as First Nationwide Bank, where she retired after 13 years of service. She also worked as a customer service representative for First Nationwide Bank in Lorain, Amherst, and Vermilion, as well as for Central Trust Bank.
She was a life member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Lorain, and a member of AMVETS Post #22 Auxiliary, and ECW (Episcopal Church Women). Marlys enjoyed doing daily yard work, camping, winter trips to Florida, fishing, sailing, and bowling at Lake Erie Lanes and Rebman’s. She also enjoyed spending time as a seasonal camper at Schaun Acres in Oberlin.
She is survived by her stepsons, Gerald Yohn of Sheffield Lake and Gregory Yohn of Lorain; two step-grandchildren; brother, Lauris Cutlip of Bucyrus; and sisters, Lorraine Robinson of Akron and Marilyn Klinger of CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Yohn in 2009; her mother, Miriam (nee Congos) Cutlip; her sister, Star Geib and her infant sister, Roberta Cutlip.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131, or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
