Marvin Holbrook

Marvin L. Holbrook, 80, of Vermilion, died Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born February 15, 1940 in Whitesburg, KY and had been a Vermilion area resident for 61 years moving from KY. Marvin worked as a paint repairman for Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 39 years retiring in 1997. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeannie (nee Adkins) Holbrook; sons, Aaron (Melissa) Holbrook of Elyria and James Holbook of Vermilion; daughter, Ashley (Corey) Christner of Vermilion; 10 siblings; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Samantha Flesher of Vermilion; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Edna (nee Combs) Holbrook; sons, Jeffery and Mike Holbrook; and his brother, Bual Holbrook. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Pastor Gary Dorsey will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
