Mary A. Endrai

Mary A. Endrai, 94 of Lorain, died Monday, June 11, 2007 in Kingston of Vermilion following a several month decline in health. She was born September 24, 1912 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident. She worked in the sales department at the former Smith & Gerhardt Store in Lorain for 49 years. She had also worked at Eleanor's Dress Shop in Lorain and the Worthington Golf Ball Factory in Elyria. For many years, she was an election booth worker. She was a member of Nativity of the Blesssed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and its Altar & Rosary Society, St. Theresa's Lodge, St. Ladislaus Elite 200 Club, Union of Poles of America, a former board member of AARP Seniors Chapter 2910, St. Joseph Hospital Ladies Auxillary, Knights of St. John Ladies Auxillary 46, National Council of Catholic Women and Golden Agers. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards.. Survivors include a grandson, Jared Endrai of Lorain; step-sisters, Loretta Vereb of Amherst Township, Dolores Tomalis of Lorain and Lucille Kryzanowski of South Amherst; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Frank Endrai in 1983, daughter, Barbara Endrai in 1969, son, Richard in 2003, parents, Albert and Sophie (nee Kosmydel) Szczesniak and sisters, Hattie, Josephine and Anna Szczesniak. Friends may call on Thursday, June 14, 2007 from 2-5 pm at the Dombrowski-Humpohrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, where members of the Nativity BVM Altar & Rosary Society will have a rosary service at 3:00pm. Closing prayers will be at 9:30am on Friday, June 15, 2007 followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
