Mary K Richardson

Mary K. Richardson (nee Griffin), 81, of Vermilion, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born January 19, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 57 years, moving there from Huron.

Mary was a graduate of Huron High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Huron and Lakeview Baptist Church in Vermilion. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family. Mary especially enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with those she loved.

She is survived by her sons, William (Tenia) Richardson of Norwalk and Steven (Kim) Richardson of Willard; daughter, Vickie Henson of Vermilion; grandchildren, Keisha, Tyler, Cory, Caleb, Steven, Matthew, and Rileigh; great-grandchildren, DeAnna, Kaiden, Brantlee and Gracelyn; brothers, James Griffin of Huron and John (Jackie) Griffin of Vermilion; and sister, Dorothy Griffin of Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Richardson, in 2015; her parents, William and Marie (nee Harvey) Griffin; and brothers, Clayton “Bubba” Griffin and Edward Griffin.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
