Mary A. Lawson

Mary A. Lawson (nee Hector), 62 of Vermilion, died Saturday, February 3, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following a brief illness. She was born February 22, 1944 in Osceola, Arkansas and has lived in Vermilion most of her life. She was a devoted homemaker and member of the Church of Christ in Vermilion. She enjoyed cooking, homemaking, reading and gardening. She is survived by her sons, Johnny W. Lawson III of Mounds, Oklahoma and Jeffery T. Lawson of Vermilion; daughter, Tammy Michelle Pierce of Vermilion; 5 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; parents, Lyman E. and Elma G. (nee Rash) Hector of Vermilion and brother, Ricky E. Hector of Vermilion. She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Johnny W. Lawson in 1993. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 from 5-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the Church of Christ, 5116 Driftwood Drive, Vermilion. Mark Weaver, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Contributions may be made to the New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035-1450.
