Mary Jane Neiding

Mary Jane Neiding, 70, of Vermilion and formerly of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Metro Health Medical Center from injuries sustained in a car accident.

She was born on September 7, 1954, in Lorain, Ohio, and had spent the past 51 years living in Columbus before recently returning to Vermilion.

Mary Jane dedicated her career to serving others, working for many years as a Food Nutritionist at Monterey Care Center in Grove City. She also worked as a scheduler at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and as a server and bartender at Plank’s on Broadway in Grove City, where she built many lasting friendships.

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Grove City, Mary Jane found joy in knitting, traveling-especially to Fort Myers, Florida-and cheering for her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her sisters, Rebecca "Becky" Neiding of Vermilion, Peggy (Paul) Trippett of LaGrange, KY, and Cynthia L. Neiding (Gary Gangluff) of Sandusky; brothers, Edward D. Neiding of Elyria, Mark B. Neiding (Jacqueline), David F. Neiding, and Michael A. Neiding (Tonya), all of Vermilion; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Beth and Gary Cotton, Billy Plank, and Lynda Marasco.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Margaret Jane Neiding; her sister-in-law, Holly M. Neiding; her nephew, Bryan Neiding; and her niece, Kimberly Trippett.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
