Mary Elizabeth Ratliff

Mary Elizabeth Ratliff (nee Smith), 76, of Vermilion, died Friday, October 14, 2005 in Community Health Partners, Lorain after a lengthy illness. She was born March 12, 1929 in Raven, Virginia and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 40 years moving from Michigan and Virginia. She attended the Harbourtown Foursquare Community Church in Vermilion and enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. She is survived by a daughter Karen Jones of Lorain; son, Ernie Ratliff of Vermilion; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Trula Franks of Marion, Virginia and Jean Stratton of Raven, VA. She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Ernest E. Ratliff in 1979, a daughter, Pricilla Ratliff in 1968 and her parents, Lucian and Gertrude (nee Dickenson) Smith. Friends may call Tuesday October 18, 2005 from 6-9 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home 1401 Second Street, Richlands, Virginia. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 19, 2005 at 11:00 at the Smith Family Cemetery in Raven, Virginia.
