Mavle Tulsa Green, 92, of Sheffield Lake, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 2, 1933 in Cullman, Alabama, and made her home in Sheffield Lake for the past 66 years, having previously lived in Lorain and Elyria.
Mavle dedicated many years of her career to JoAnn Fabrics, where she served as a store manager. A gifted and accomplished professional seamstress, she was widely known for her remarkable talent and creativity. With a needle and thread in hand, there was truly nothing she couldn’t do—she could create, mend, or design anything involving fabric. She lovingly made cherished family heirlooms including baby blankets, clothing, and countless handmade treasures. Her creativity extended to crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch, quilting, and painting—there seemed to be no craft she could not master. She attended Euclid Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Kyron “Ky” S. Green of Wakeman; grandchildren, Matthew (Paige) Green and Brooke (Jeff) Zemanek; great-granddaughters, Adalynn Green and Evelyn Zemanek; brother, Roger (Joann) Hinkle; sisters, Betty Eidson and Rebecca (Greg) Goggins; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd L. Green in 2012; her parents, Floyd and Maureen (née Neighbors) Hinkle; and her sister, Delola McCracken.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Interment will follow at Rugby Cemetery, Brownhelm Township.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
