Maxine Alford

Maxine Alford (nee Owens), aged 85, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at her home following a brief illness.

Born on December 12, 1938, in Somerset, KY, Maxine relocated to Vermilion 53 years ago from Amherst. She will be remembered fondly for her passion for reading, tending to her garden, collecting antiques, and staying connected with loved ones through Facebook. Maxine cherished moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cynthia (Richard) Pringle of Cincinnati and Aimee (Patrick) Quinn of Orange Co., CA, her son, Clint (Jolie) Alford of Vermilion, granddaughter Jillian (Matt) Jackson, granddaughter Raquel (Carl) Jenkins, granddaughter Erica (Stacie Boahr) Jenkins, great-grandchildren Griffin, Cooper, Maxwell, and one on the way, brother, New Deal (Laura) Owens and her sister, Vontene Golden.

Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Thomas Wayne Alford, her son Thomas Alford, parents, Dennis and Nannie (nee Dalton) Owens, brothers, Lee D. and Denny Owens, and her sisters, Pauline Jones and Thelma Dumont.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County, Inc., at 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
