Maynard L. Dellifield

Maynard L Dellifield, 84, of Henrietta Twp., died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin. He was born December 30, 1923 in Henrietta Township, and was a life long resident. He worked as a carpenter for Oberlin College for 23 years and retired in 1984. He was also a self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Henrietta United Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and elder. He served as the township clerk and was a member of the Firelands School Board. He was a member of the Oberlin Masonic Lodge #380, and the Firelands Booster Club where he helped build the stadium. He loved farming, gardening, his grandchildren, square dancing and camping. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Wilma Parke Dellifield, son, Dennis (Marilee) Dellifield, Lafayette, OH; daughter, Patricia (Robert) Dellifield Caywood, Vermilion; 3 grandchildren, David (Jami) Dellifield, Jonathan (Cindy) Dellifield and Colin Caywood; 2 great grandchildren, Nora and Ian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jessie (nee Kropf) Dellifield, a brother, Chalmer Dellifield and sister Shirley Filker. Friends may call Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, from 10 a.m. until a Masonic Service at 11 a.m. A memorial service will immediately follow the Masonic Service. Pastor Richard Henry of the Amherst Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Birmingham Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Welcome Nursing Home Activities Department, 417 South Main Street, Oberlin, Ohio 44074.
