Melvin C. O'Bryon, 89, of Berlin Heights, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 24, 1933 in Corinth, WV and had been a Berlin Heights resident for the past 52 years moving from Georgia.
Melvin served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he retired from the Air Force in 1971 and was very proud of his military service, he then worked at the Sandusky Post Office for 17 years.
He was a member of the Sandusky AMVETS Post # 17 and Norwalk VFW Post # 2529. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on his tractor, carpentry, and spending his winters in Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Peggy (nee Hileman) O'Bryon of Berlin Heights; daughter, Debra (Russell) Nottke of Berlin Heights; grandchildren, Lisa (Christopher) Warren, Jennifer (Garrett) Williston, Ashley (Frederick) Leber, and Gregory Nottke; and great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Hayden, Emmie, Mason, Ellie, Dylan and Jason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wilma (nee cross) O'Bryon; sons, Michael Karl O'Bryon and Gregory Allen O'Bryon; and sister, Sara G Allgauer.
Graveside services will be Monday, January 23, 2023 at Maple Grove Cemetery with military honors and Chaplain Michael Sweeney officiating.
