Michael W. Dolezal, 79, of Akron, died Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Sunrise Senior Living.
He was born March 24, 1945, in Cleveland, OH, and lived in Northeast Ohio his entire life.
Michael honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, earning a Bronze Star.
Michael dedicated 35 years to his family’s business, All Service Rental Center in Lorain, where he was Vice President.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Vermilion. Over the years, Michael enjoyed boating on Lake Erie with his family and friends, RV trips with his wife, and flying as a private pilot. He was also a car, truck, and heavy equipment enthusiast.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron (Adrienna) Dolezal, of Akron, and Adam (Catherine) Dolezal, of MD; granddaughters, Abigail and Isabelle Dolezal; and his sister, Dianne (Sam) Warr, of FL.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Lynda Dolezal; parents, William and Hattie (nee Cintula) Dolezal; and his brother, Charles Dolezal.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon, at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Interment will follow at Rugby Cemetery, Vermilion, where the Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a veterans’ organization of your choosing.
