Michael F. Hollis, 67, of Vermilion, died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at his home after a 2 month illness. Born September 15, 1943 in Handover Hantz, England he had been a Vermilion resident for the past 14 years moving from Parma. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Michael worked for LTV Steel as a Roll Grinder and later at Lowes in Sandusky. He was a member of AMVETS Post 22 and enjoyed fishing and boating. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sharon (nee Buzzard); daughters, Lisa (John) Balogh of Coconut Creek, FL and Michelle Hollis of Vermilion; grandchildren, Brittney, Joshua, and Taylor; sisters, Sue and Debbie and brother, Richard; sisters-in-law and brothers- in- law, Bob and Katsuko Buzzard, San Diego, CA; Betty Ann and John Pfeiffer, Tootsie and Fred Hill, Thomas and Sue Buzzard, all of Cumberland, MD. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary (nee Bacon) Hollis and his brother -in-law, William J. Buzzard. Friends may call Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 4 until the time of a Veterans Service at 7 p.m. Father Ron Brickner will conduct a funeral service following the veteran's service at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion Ohio.
