Michael J. King, 77, of Vermilion, died Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. He was born December 10, 1938 in Cleveland,and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 40 years moving from Cincinnati. Michael worked as a machine repairman for Bruning for 17 years. He then worked as a general contractor for 30 years. After retirement, he continue to work for Broehl & Apple Electric delivering parts. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, where he was part of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, model boat building, reading, and hunting, especially duck hunting. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (John J) Sekulic of Wakeman and Leisa (Craig) Cassidy of Vermilion; son, John M (Barbara) King of Vermilion; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother, John Francis King of Bay Village; and sisters, Cathy King of Avon and Traci Terek of Berea. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith M. (nee Bischof) King in 2010; father, John King; and mother and step-father, May (nee Seme) and Elmer Maki. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion, OH. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
