Michael "Mike" Lindsey, 54, of Lorain, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at New Life Hospice, Lorain after a lengthy illness. He was born January 27, 1959 in Corinth, MS, and had been a Lorain resident for the past 10 years moving from Vermilion. Mike attended Vermilion High School and worked for the Cleveland Catholic Diocese as a grounds keeper for the Catholic Cemeteries in Avon, Elyria, and Lorain. He enjoyed going out to eat, family get together's, spending time with his grandchildren, and attending soccer games. He also loved NASCAR and cheering on his favorite driver, Tony Stewart. He is survived by his mother, Linda Lindsey of Lorain; daughter, Renee (Anthony) Lindsey-Edmondson of Elyria; grandchildren, Riley and Dakota Edmondson; sister, Julie Stidham of Wakeman; nieces, Elisha And Rachel Stidham of Lorain; and 5 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Lindsey in 1974; infant niece, Jennifer Stidham; maternal grandparents, Thomas "Bud" and Martha "Moms" Trimble; and paternal grandparents, Arch and Irene Lindsey. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 5-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
