Michael J. Yarsa, 98 of Lorain, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born April 19, 1908 in McKees Rocks, PA and has lived in Lorain for over 70 years. He had also lived in Iowa and in South Amherst. He worked as an inspector and retired from the Moen Company in Elyria. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lorain and enjoyed fishing, gardening and bowling. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Yarsa of Elyria; sons, Ronald and Thomas, both of Lorain; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded-in-death by his wife, Stella (nee Wasilewski) in 1995, a daughter, Geraldine Yarsa in 1994, parents, John and Rose Yarsa and brothers, Frank, Steve, Jack and Joe. Friends may call Friday, July 21, 2006 from 5-8 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Closing prayers will be said on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 9:00 am at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Edward J. Luca J.C.D., pastor emeritus of St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Sheffield Village and the Reverend Mr. Robert J. Dybo, deacon at Nativity, will concelebrate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Memorial contributions are suggested to Nativity BVM Building/Restoration Fund, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
