Michelle Dee Wade

Michelle Wade (nee Plato), 71, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born August 27, 1953 in Lorain, Ohio  and had been a Vermilion resident for over past 30 years moving from Arizona.

Michelle worked at a Plant Nursery for 20 years while living in Arizona, and held various jobs in the area after her return to Ohio.

She was known for her  vibrant personality and zest for life. She enjoyed bingo, especially when she won at purse bingo, drinking coffee, gardening and fishing on Lake Erie. Throughout her life she shared her heart and home with many pets, whom she adored. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, treasuring every moment spent with her family and doting on her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, James "Pete"  (Rebecca) Wade of Vermilion, grandchildren, James "PJ", Molly and Megan Wade; her siblings, Raymond Plato, Tracie Laws, Michael Plato, and Barb Plato; and  step daughter, Patricia Newman and her family.

She was preceded in death by her  parents, Michael and Mary (nee Milburn) Plato; her daughter, Nicola Wade;  her sisters, Suzanne Plato and Sheryl Carter; and step daughter, Nancy Wade.

A celebration of Michelle's life will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions to a Breast Cancer Organization of the donor's choice.
