Monnie Marie Morris, (nee Yates) 64, of Vermilion, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a two year illness. She was born November 21, 1944 and lived 44 years in Vermilion.. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, crafting and fishing. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly ( Jeffrey) Griggs of South Amherst; sons, Larry ( Debbie) Morris of Lorain, Sonny Morris of Vermilion, Timothy ( Regina) Morris of Painesville, and Austin ( Nikki) Morris of Vermilion; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Emmil Meade, Kermit, W. Virginia, Carolyn Preece, W. Virginia, Shirley Kazee, Wolf Creek Kentucky; 2 brothers, Elzie, Yates, S. Amherst, and Ermil Yates, Kermit, W. Virginia. Preceding her in death were her parents, Roy and Elsie Yates; her husband, Dale B. Morris, Jan. 4, 2007; and 3 brothers, James, Denver, Ralph Yates. Friends may call Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave., Vermilion. Reverend Cliff Morris and Pastor Howard Crabtree will co officiate.
