Myra Elizabeth Sablack (nee Schmidt), 70, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born April 2, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 20 years, moving from Cleveland. Myra worked in home heath care as an STNA for many years before becoming a Certified Pharmacy Technician working for St. John's Westshore. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and enjoyed boating, amusement parks, and spending her winters in New Port Richie, FL. She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Dezso Maxwell Sablack of Vermilion; sons, Greg and Frederic Koscik; step-son, Dwight Sablack; step daughter, June (Brian) James; granddaughters, Jordan, Dana and Cecilia; and sister-in-laws, Ronda Gregg, Annette McCarty, Marie Banks, Mary Waltz, and Sandra Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Koscik; parents, Fred and Aura (nee Koyka) Schmidt; and her step-son, Daniel Sablack. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 from 9:30 am until the time of a prayer service at 11:00 am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion. Father Ron Brickner will officiate.
