Myrtle E. Browning (nee Kirby), 67, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at her home after a two year illness. Myrtle was born July 27, 1944 in Minot, ND. She had been a Vermilion resident for the past 45 years, moving from Sumter, SC. Myrtle worked as an assembler for Crown Division of Allen Group Steel, Lorain. She was a member of the AIW Union, the VFW Post 7576 Auxiliary, AMVETS Post 22 Auxiliary, and American Legion Post # 397 Auxiliary. She enjoyed housework, yard work, and enjoyed gambling. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Rodney Browning of Vermilion; daughters, Delores Jones of Lorain and Sherri Browning of Vermilion; son, Clarence Johnson of Vermilion; grandchildren, Kristina Sowards, Jesse Browning, Melisa and Rodney D. Johnson, D J McPherson Jr., Shyanne Tomecko, great-granddaughter, Mersadies Sowards; sisters, Carolyn Caruso of Syracuse, NY, Betty Gray of Prairie Hill, TX, and, Cynthia Kotcher of Vermilion; brother, Lonnie Kirby of Vermilion; sister-in-law, Jeane Kirby and Judy L. Kirby. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth B Kirby, Jr., son in law, David R. Jones and parents, Kenneth B. & Myrtle (nee Halstead) Kirby,Sr. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Monday, November 28, 2011 at 12:00 noon. Chaplain Mel Sayler will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
