Nadine Keener

Nadine Shuler Keener, age 89, of Graceville, FL, our beloved mother, peacefully passed away on July 21, 2024, under the care of Emerald Coast Hospice.

Born on February 7, 1935, to the late Richard Lloyd McKinney and Annie Cress McKinney, Nadine grew up in Big Stone Gap, VA, before spending over 50 years in Ohio, including 35 years in Vermilion.

Nadine dedicated 14 years to Vermilion Community Services as a Mini Bus Driver, retiring in 1991. She attended Lakeview Baptist Church in Vermilion and previously participated in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #397 and AMVETS Post #22 Ladies Auxiliary. Nadine also enjoyed volunteering at the Lorain County Free Clinic. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her friends and family.

Nadine is survived by her daughters, Teresa Billingsley of Graceville, FL, and Margie (James) Moore of Amherst, OH; and her brother, Robert McKinney of Wakeman, OH. She cherished her grandchildren, Delores (Robert) Conrady, James Moore Jr., Jared Billingsley, and Britteny Shuler, as well as her great-grandchildren Cindy, Andy, Ryan, Savanna, and Stryder, and her great-great-grandchild.

Nadine was preceded in death by her husbands, Noah Shuler Sr. and John Keener; her son, Noah Shuler Jr.; her parents, Richard and Annie McKinney; and her brother, Edward Caudill.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Nadine will be laid to rest beside her late husband's Noah Shuler and John Keener in Brownhelm Cemetery following the memorial service.
