Nancy Martin McClimans, 91, formerly of Vermilion, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Methodist Home in Washington D.C. from complications caused by Parkinson's disease. Nancy was born September 8, 1921 in Buffalo, NY. She had lived in Vermilion more than 40 years and had also lived in Sheffield Village before moving to Washington D.C. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Allegany College. Nancy was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion and the Vermilion Yacht Club. Nancy was a Board Member at the Ritter Public Library for 21 years and also served as its President. She was an avid reader and member of book clubs and an owner of the Black Sheep, a needle point shop in downtown Vermilion for several years. She was a snow skier until age 80 and enjoyed sailing with her husband and family on their beloved sailboat Serapis. She is survived by her sons, Jim (Sandy) McClimans of Calgary, AB, Don McClimans of Rochester, NY, and Bob (Becky) McClimans of Washington DC; daughter, Ellen McClimans of Indianapolis, IN; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dean McClimans, Jan 9, 2013 and her parents, Harry L. and Gladys (nee Holand) Martin. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
