Nancy J. Meier (nee Vogler), 72, of Vermilion, went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 22, 2018 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born June 6, 1945 in Cleveland and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 41 years. Nancy graduated from The Ohio State University and worked as a Kindergarten and Second Grade teacher for Vermilion Schools for 10 years. She then continued her teaching at Open Door Christian Schools retiring after 25 years. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door, Elyria and later the Vermilion Campus. She loved tutoring young girls, cooking, canning, and she especially enjoyed entertaining and serving friends and guests. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Leland Meier of Vermilion; daughter, Megan Billet of West Point, Virginia; grandchildren: Mallory and Elijah; and her brother, Robert B. Vogler of Painesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Naomi (nee Mooney) Vogler. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Beulah Beach Center, 6101 W. Lake Road, Vermilion, Ohio 44089. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Beulah Beach Camp, 6101 West Lake Rd., Vermilion, OH 44089.
