Nancy G Trinter

Nancy G. Trinter (nee Gerhart), 79, of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 2, 2017, at her home after a lengthy illness. Nancy was born June 20, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up in Rocky River and enjoyed summers in the Linwood Park area of Vermilion. She graduated from Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights and attended Skidmore College in New York and Baldwin Wallace. Nancy ultimately became a lifelong Vermilion resident. John and Nancy also enjoyed a home in Lighthouse Point, Florida. She had a lifelong love affair with music and the piano- her early years as a performance major, and her later years in the audience of international competitions in Oberlin and Cleveland. She enjoyed boating with her family and cruised all the waterways of the Great Lakes. She was president of the distaff women's groups for both the Vermilion Boat Club and Vermilion Yacht Club.Over the years, she was a member of the Vermilion Boat Club, Catawba IslandClub and Vermilion Yacht Club. In Nancy's earlier years, she sold real estate. Nancy enjoyed travel and fine dining, including the pleasures of the table as a member of several food and wine societies. She was a veracious reader and especially loved reading great fiction. She loved spending time with friends and playing bridge. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion, and the Unity Church of Delray Beach, FL. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John T. Trinter of Vermilion; son, Stephen Michael (Ann) Trinter of Eden Prairie, MN; daughter, Elizabeth Ann "Lisa" Trinter of Vermilion; grandchildren, Paige and Cole Trinter; and sister, Gail G. (Smitty) Haller of Rocky River. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. and Jean D. (nee Dunham) Gerhart. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 from 10 am until the time of a Memorial Service at 11:30am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend David Zerby will officiate. Private interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
