Naomi M Ewbank

Naomi M. Ewbank (nee Wolford), 86, of Vermilion, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness. She was born October 5, 1928 in Bloominggrove township, Richland County, Ohio and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 14 years moving from Medina and Ashland. Naomi started her career at the Mansfield Telephone Company. She then worked for Hostetler's Office Supply, Ashland and then Ashland City Schools as the principal's assistant at Lincoln and Pleasant Street Schools. After moving to Medina she began working in the Loan Dept. at Old Phoenix National Bank until she retired. Naomi was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Vermilion and had been a member of the Professional Credit Association of Ohio. She had a love for life and enjoyed staying very active. Naomi enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines in Vermilion, golfing, painting, ceramics, and pottery. She also loved living near the water, boating, and traveling the US and Europe. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Duane Ewbank; daughters, Margie Ransom of Mashpee, MA and Jane (Charles) Dolezal of Orville, OH; grandchildren Melissa Dolezal and Matt Dolezal; great-grandchildren, Madison and McKenzie Dolezal; and sisters, Ruth Schrock of Wooster and Janice (Paul) Srnis of Amherst. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary (nee Egner) Wolford; brother, Dean Wolford; and brother-in-law, Howard Schrock. Naomi's wishes were to have a private service with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
