Nelle E. Rundle (nee White), 102, of Vermilion, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Kingston of Vermilion after a 4 month illness. She was born August 25, 1906 in Youngstown, Ohio. She has been a Vermilion resident for the past 25 years moving from Youngstown. She worked as a bookkeeper for Republic Steel in Youngstown and at the Mahoning County Board of Health as a secretary and bookkeeper. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Amherst. and a former member of the Church of the Open Door, Elyria. She played piano at Calvary Baptist Church in Youngstown and played both piano and organ at the Youngstown Market Street Baptist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star Trias Chapter, Youngstown and the Madeline Chapter of Eastern Star, Vermilion. She enjoyed needlepoint and music and was the first to play piano on WKBN, Youngstown. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn J. Rundle of Vermilion; several nieces and nephews and her adopted family, Bunny Forrider of Vermilion, Eric Lewis of North Olmsted and David Lewis of Scranton, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Pierce Rundle in 1977; her sisters, Virginia Harbison, and Helen Jordon; brothers, William and Thomas White; and her parents William and Ethel (nee Jackson) White. Friends may call Monday, August 3, 2009 from 1 until 3 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Dr. Arnold Flealge, pastor of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church, will officiate. Interment will be held Tuesday at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Youngstown.
