Nelson Roy Palmer, 48, of Columbus, died unexpectedly, Friday, July 8, 2022, at his home. He was born December 1, 1973, in Marion, OH and had been a Columbus resident for the past 30 years. Nelson worked as a talented aspiring chef for several restaurants, including 'plas, The Crest, Z Cucina, and Frezno Bar and Grill. He enjoyed cooking (creating new dishes), fishing, and spending time with his many friends and family. He will be remembered for his beautiful soul and kind heart. He is survived by his father, Roy (Linda) Palmer of Murfreesboro, TN; mother, Rita Palmer of Vermilion; sister, Dianna (Jeffrey) Birdwell of Vermilion; nephew, Payton Birdwell; niece, Eva Birdwell; Uncle and Aunt, Bill and Suzanne Palmer; Aunt and Uncle, Ann and Eugene O'Neill; stepbrothers, Kirk (Julie) LaLance and Rick (Lee Ann) LaLance; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Rose Goedde and his paternal grandparents, John and Betty Palmer. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
