Noah Meade Sr, 80, of Vermilion, died Saturday, March 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 31, 1944 in Letcher, KY and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 50 years moving from Lorain.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Noah dedicated 30 years of his career to Ford Motor Company, where he worked in various roles, including inspector, until his retirement in 1991.
Noah was a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Vermilion, as well as Amvets Post 22, VFW Post 7576, and the NRA. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, tinkering, and gardening. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his children, Lena (Gerald) Newsome, Renee (Gregory) Jagielo, Tina (Mike) Traster, Noah (Conchata) Meade, Jr., Matthew (Angel) Meade, Janett (John) Pyles, and Greg (Sue) Meade; grandchildren, Ridge, Clay, Cole, Branden, Bryce, Mike Jr., Christopher, Shawn, Hayden, Deven, Draedon, Desiree, Derek, Connor, Clayton, Marissa, Anthony, Jimmy, Ben, Christina, Sarah and Greg Jr.; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Dema Sue Meade, Linda Fouts and William Meade; step sons, Roman and Twain Lundgren, and many step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie "Ottie" Meade, his first wife, Sharon Meade; parents, Grover and Gladice (nee Taylor) Meade; and five brothers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2025, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, March 7, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Riddle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion where military honors will be presented.
