Norma Jean Simpson

Norma Jean Simpson (nee Trippett), 72, of Vermilion, died Monday, February 24, 2025 at Mill Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born June 25, 1952 in Parkersburg, WV and had been a Vermilion  most of her adult life, relocating to Michigan for 20 years before returning home to Vermilion 10 years ago.

She found joy in being a homemaker and cherished time spent camping, visiting casinos, playing cards and bingo, and making memories with her girlfriends and family.

She is survived by her mother, Kathryn (nee Dulaney) Trippett; children, Kathryn (John) Repko,  Meagan (Stanley) Kreydin, Andrea (Michael) Thomas, and Grover E. "Ed" Simpson III; grandchildren, Zachary  (Chelsea) Repko, Caleb  (Elizabeth)Repko, Seth Repko, Mia, Sarah and Alexander Kreydin, Ethan, Jacob and Samuel Thomas, Alllison and Grover E. " Eddie" Simpson IV; great grandchildren, Kallie, Gunner, and Nora. She is also survived by her  siblings, Mary  (Paul) Freeman, Thomas (Karon) Trippett, Diana (Rick) Spencer and Paul (Peggy) Trippett; and her best friends, Debbie Jennings and Janice Martz.

She was preceded in death by her  husband of 53 years, Grover E Simpson, Jr.; father, Charles "Ray" Trippett; an infant sister, niece, Kimberly  Trippett; and cherished friend, Mary Anne Martz.

The family will receive friends on February 28, 2025 from 3 p.m.  until the time of service at 5 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Pastor Jim Cooper will officiate.
