Norman Joseph Skufeeda, 72, of Lorain, died Friday, February 24, 2006 at his home after a 1 year illness. He was born August 24, 1933 in Lorain and was a life long resident. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He worked as a supervisor and engineer for Lorain Telephone, Centel and Century Tel for 43 years. He was a member of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, reading and crossword puzzles. Survivors include wife of 48 years, Georgene (nee Zakutny); daughters, Diane Sheffield of Celina, and Lynn Skufeeda of Bay Village; granddaughter, Tesia Sheffield of Celina; brother, Benjamin Skufeeda of Lorain; and sisters, Mary Louise Ingels of Lorain, and, Teresa Patrlja of Vermilion . Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Zora (nee Meyers) Skufeeda , and a sister, Helen Skufeeda. Friends may call 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006 at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Prayers will be said in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church,418 W. 15th Street,Lorain, Monday, February 27, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
