Olen Abercrombie

Olen Abercrombie, 58, of Vermilion, died Friday July 26, 2013, at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Olen was born August 4, 1954 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, moving to Ohio in 1955. He was a graduate of Admiral King High School, and attended Ohio University, majoring in engineering. He worked for Higbee's, and Napa Auto Parts in Vermilion. He enjoyed racing, sports, and ham radio operations. He also enjoyed going to the YMCA. He is survived by his two sisters, Laverne (Jim) Neiding of Vermilion, and Norma (Alan) Gottschling of Wakeman; and three nieces, Michele (nee Neiding) Taylor, Sharon (Nee Gottschling) Tincher, and Carol Gottschling. He was proceed in death by his parents Bennie and Alma (nee Wyeres) Abercrombie. Friends may call Monday, July 29, 2013 from 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Chaplain Paul Richardson will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
