Olive Kubach

January 26, 1912 — February 25, 2004

Olive Christina Kubach (nee Holl), 92, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 in Kingston of Vermilion after a brief illness. She was born January 26, 1912 in Amherst, Ohio, where she lived until 1974 when she moved to Florence, then she moved to Vermilion in 2001. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Amherst, where she was a former member of the Alter Guild. She was also a member of Amherst American Legion Aux Post 118. She loved vegetable gardening and growing flowers especially roses, playing cards, sewing, cooking and reading. She is survived by her son, Glen Kubach of Strongsville, 2 daughters, Glenda Akers of Amherst and Jean Kubach of Sandusky; and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Kubach in 1991; parents, William and Sophia (nee Pippert) Holl, a brother, Leroy Holl and sister Mildred Samaha. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home on Saturday, February 28, 2004 at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
